Here’s another tip to help you get more traffic to your Website business.

Suggest your business website to the Open Directory Project: http://www.dmoz.org

Instructions – How To:

  1. Search for your business name, if it’s there your good (you’re done!)
  2. If not, you now need to locate the best (category name) that you would place your business in.  You may do this by searching using a common key phrase (eg. Musician, Motorcycle Repair, RV Park, Financial Services,…)  You will likely find other businesses listed where you want to be listed. Once you locate the best category click the link near the top “suggest URL” and enter your Website URI, business name, and description, (you’re done!) You’ve built another path to your doorstep (website), enjoy.

Building links to your website helps your website rankings and listing higher in search engine results.

PS. Another idea, If you are a musician why not put yourself on http://www.last.fm, (I’m actually listening now).

Enter information about your Website at this URI ( http://www.aboutus.org ) to help improve inbound linking and search engine rankings. ( Example enter into your web browser: http://www.aboutus.org/name-of-your-website )

This generates a Wiki page at About.Us.org, free for any website.  It will create a link to your website, hopefully improving search engine ranking and simply providing more information about you/your business website. The more sites linking to your web site the better it will rank in the keyword search results (towards the top of the results page). This can only benefit you by entering your Web site information.

Note: Near the top of the web page (linked above) is a input field to enter your Web site URI then press Find!  This will generate a Wiki page where you can edit your information as you like.

Take advantage of such Websites for link building and ranking.
